Using FlightOnTrack Android appllication
Preflight:
- In order to avoid distraction make sure you do all the checks before engine start.
- Launch Flight On Track application on your phone.
- Make sure the Pilot Phone ID field is populated with your phone number or another number that uniquely represents your pilot ID. If it is not, edit the field manually.
- Update Aircraft field. Click on the airplane icon located on bottom right corner of the main screen. Update aircraft Make/Model/Series/N Number and scan the aircraft NFC tag if available. Alternatively, edit the fields manually. To save changes press 'Save' button.
- Set Update Frequency interval ranging from 3 seconds for flying in pattern to 5 minutes for long flights.
- Check Multi Leg box if you are flying in patterns or on a flight with more than one landing.
- Press the red button before you start taxiing. It is important to have a connection to your mobile network at this time.
The app starts communicating with remote server, requesting a new Flight ID.
If the communication went out successfully the button switches to yellow Cleared For Takeoff state with the new flight number allocated. If the application failed to set up connection try again.
- Place the phone in your aircraft where the gps signal is not blocked though it may work absolutely fine in your pocket.
Checklist:

- Tracking speed set to 40
In flight:
- No action required from the pilot in flight.
- Upon reaching 40 mph speed on takeoff the button automatically changes from yellow to green Flight On Track state indicating the start of the tracking.
The tracking automatically stops when speed slows down to 40 mph on landing unless it's been set differently in the Settings screen.
If Multi Leg box is checked the application automatically allocates a new flight id and starts another flight recording on the next takeoff.
- To stop tracking press the green button.
- The flight tracking is terminated automatically when the number of waypoints reaches a limit which is currently is set to 100 points per a flight leg.
Changing/resetting application preferences:
- Use the Settings icon on the bottom of Action bar.
- Change bottom threshold of Tracking Speed if needed. The default is set to 40mph meaning the actual recording starts upon reaching this speed. If the setting reads 0 the recording starts in 10 sec of pressing red button.
- To revert all settings to default values press Reset button.
- This screen also shows the current url where your routes can be accessed along with the password to log into your data. To see the password press Show Psw button.

- Use Report Problem envelope icon on the bottom of Action bar.
